LARGE ANIMAL PRODUCER LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid VCPR (Veterinary Client Patient Relationship)
As a new start up, every large animal producer will need to establish a VCPR before we are able to sell you medications. This means that we need to have seen and established an understanding of your production system and livestock before we can sell you prescription medications. There is a lot of confusion and frustration regarding the requirement of a VCPR and if you have any questions call us with them and we’d be happy to answer and to help you out as best we can.
Remember that a VCPR is a legal requirement that is dictated by our governing bodies and all veterinarians are bound by professional obligation to follow the regulations set out for them.

Dr. Heidi provided excellent care for our horse, Daisy, during her routine vaccinations. Her calm demeanor and clear expertise helped put both Daisy and me at ease. We really appreciate having such skilled and convenient care right at our farm!

Seasonal
Small Ruminant Reproduction
Dr. Heidi Dubé is part of a team that provides advanced reproductive services for small ruminants (sheep and goats) through a company called OC Flock Management (a small ruminant veterinary service owned and operated by Dr. Lynn Tait).
-
Advanced Services: Laparoscopic artificial insemination, embryo flush and transfer, and semen collection (both domestic and export) through OC Flock Management.
You can visit Dr. Tait’s website for more information regarding these services.
Seasonal Availability: Primarily from September to February. Schedule will be posted on the website.
How Will This Effect You?
The repro season for sheep and goats is primarily from September until February, meaning that services at Aspen Vet may be interrupted at times while Dr. Heidi is on the road. We apologize for any inconvenience and will try to accommodate your needs as best we can. Drug sales may still be an option if a valid VCPR is already in place. Schedule will be posted on this website in advance to keep clients as informed as possible.
